Little Blandy School House, unframed
Original pastel painted en plein air at the Blandy Experimental Farm Plein Air Festival. This charming educational building, tucked away behind trees as you walk up the front path, requires a little ducking under branches to view from this perspective. That's where I set up my easel to paint this pastel. Surrounded by trees and bushes, it was a verdant delight. Only the slightest hint of autumn was in the spent flowers in the foreground, that left their bristly, dried pods. I am delighted to add this to my 2023 Christmas Virginia Plein Air and Studio Sale.
