Uncommon Beauty of the Common Grackle

We have a bird-feeding station outside of our window, and earlier in the summer, we enjoyed for a time, having the common grackles come. The operative words are 'for a time.' Though they are gorgeous birds, and their iridescent colors were captivating, they also overtook our feeder. They did not just come a few at a time, but in growing and growing numbers. Finally, we had to take some steps to discourage them (we bought seeds they did not like), but not until I had taken numerous photos that showed off their magnificent blues and teals.
